About Ben Drakes
I sold for twenty years before I taught any of this.
Ten at Computacenter, where I finished as their number one seller. Then a decade in outsourcing across Capita and Serco. Somewhere in there I closed more than $2 billion of B2B partnerships across technology, outsourcing, utilities and the public sector.
None of it was theory. I was in the room, in the account, chasing the same stakeholders your sellers are chasing now.
What I do now
For the last seven years I have run Ben Drakes University, delivering sales enablement for global technology vendors across the UK, Europe, North America, the Middle East and APAC.
I work with CEOs, CROs and enablement leaders who all have the same problem. There is a gap between what the strategy says and what actually happens on a Tuesday afternoon in front of a customer. I close that gap by working with the sellers themselves, not by writing a deck about it.
The method
eqai8. Say “Equate”.
Your sellers own the EQ. Reading the room, building trust, sensing the politics. AI owns the IQ. Research, business cases, first drafts at speed. And the 8 is the set of questions every customer has to answer before they will spend money with you.
No new tools. No theory. Every seller works on a real live account and leaves the session with progress on an actual opportunity.
It is built for technology sales teams who already have Copilot, Gemini or Claude in their stack and have not cracked adoption.
eqai8 is not a framework I read about. It is the way I hunted, written down and handed to AI.
The podcast
I host the AI Outcomes Podcast, where more than 31,000 subscribers watch me ask operators what AI actually changed for them rather than what it promised. Real results, not pilots and proof-of-concepts.
Those conversations are also how I stay current. The method moves because the market does.
